* In sedan or 5-door hatchback configuration, the 2012 Chevy Sonic is the quietest and most composed subcompact car you can buy. Combined with more conventional styling than some of its key competitors, the Sonic is destined to become a mass-market favorite. Source: KBB.com

  • Good car for price

Bought this car in 17' from Hertz car rentals. Was a certified used car, with 30k miles at the time. In the two years since I've put 50k more miles on it and it still runs like the day i bought it. The car has needed 0 repairs, just oil, new tires and air filter. I bought this car mainly because i love road tripping, and love good gas milage. I also wanted a car that was tech savvy. I have the LT hatchback and it has a touchscreen, bluetooth, Wifi enabled(cost about $20 month), On Star( nice peace of mind, plus you get free monthly reports regarding your cars health, and can also turn on/off your car, lock doors via app on your phone). The car handles pretty great. The horsepower seems low but i never feel unsafe merging onto highways, and i easily fly at 70-80 on highways. Ive noticed wind to be an issue with blowing me around very easily. Handling is great around town, i can zip in and out and park anywhere, plus the turning radius is insane. I can u-turn anywhere. Overall its a solid car. My girlfriend also has a Sonic, 2012, and loves it as well.

It rides smoothly and precisely. Feels much more comfortable than most submidsize vehicles. Love the hands free phone system, Onstar, automatic windows, and all the other bells and whistles found on bigger cars. Most of all, it is excellent on gas. Mpg interstate driving 38 MPG. Local 28 MPG. Great price for a very safe, smooth ride.

I have had a Kia Rio 2005 that has never gave me as much trouble as the Chevy sonic 2012 LT. The car has had so many repairs you would think I bought a new engine, transmission etc for the car. I even tried to get the car fixed the last time for stalling randomly and my trusted mechanic that later told me it’s best to take it to the dealership. I took the car to two dealerships and no one could find out the problem after replacing several parts of the car absurd right. Yes! I was totally upset and had to end up financing a new car after coming out of pocket almost $2000 and my time dealing with the issue for about 2 and a half months.
